Character Creation
Hello and welcome to the character creation rules and guidelines! This topic is all about explaining the different between an Original Character vs a Canon one. If you have any questions please feel to to ask! Because I know this can be confusing.
An Original Character would be a character not based off of a different version of an already existing character such as my Namekian character Saxo. Saxo is a character who has nothing to do with the main story of Dragonball and as such will fall into the original character category.
Now what does it mean to be an Original Character? Well for starters it's a well established rule in more fannons that OCs are weaker then there Canon counterparts and that's going to hold true here. Does this mean they are going to be Yamcha weak? Not at all but I would really like it if they fall into a lower (but not weak) state of power such as only being able to turn Super Saiyan 1. Never give them insane power ups at the start!
Never give them insane power ups at the start! It will do little more then to tick off your role playing partners since nobody likes a god mod. I'm going to link you to a small video you should consider on watching before making your character. Yes it's a parody but it hits the nail on the head. Click Me!
Now if you were brave enough to watch that god awfulbut funny as hell video then you should totally have a better understanding as to why it is we cap Original Character's power. We hold them to a higher standard because of all the Weeaboos -_- it's not fair I know but if you remember to create a character with both a well thought out backstory with a realistic power level who's not totally hacked then your creation shall fit in fine If you have any questions feel free to ask them!
A Canon character is a character that is already existing in the established world wrote out by the creator of the series. Character such as Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, etc are canon characters. Now since we are a Multiverse Role-Play and because the canons may not necessarily play a large role in our plots it's been decided that all alterations of a canon character from different universes shall be treated as Canon Characters themselves.
The main difference between taking on an Original Character from a Character character will be the power level difference in that most of the Canon Characters shall be (or at least start off) stronger then their Original counterparts. If you took some time to read our plot you will see that the Canon Character shall more or less be like their established main canon character with something changing in their universe that changed their history. For example maybe Bardock convinced King Vegeta and various other Saiyans to catch Frizea off guard and managed to kill the Tyrant before he could blow up the Vegeta (My Son, The Planet or Me?) So what would the life of Bardock and King Vegeta be like if they survived? Maybe King Vegeta became the first Super Saiyan? Who knows? But that's the whole point of this place. To answer those what if questions in a fun and exciting way : )
So if you want to take on a canon alteration of a character ask yourself the following. "What events in their lives should I change to best suit my Canon?" You can also just play as a normal character from the normal timeline if you like it's up to you. Anyways place out and message me if you have any questions or concerns : )
